Left foot sandal straps repairs
Shin grafts
Two small sections of Talos’ shin below the sandal strap had split and moved outwards. To correct this, I excised both areas and replaced them with grafts set in the correct profile.

Inner side ankle strap
When compared with the other ankle straps and film footage, the right side ankle strap had moved significantly up and out of position. I removed and replaced it with a section heat-formed to the correct profile, which would allow me room to reinstate the ankle bone structure at a later point.

Top of foot and sandal tongue
In comparison with the right foot, the top of the left foot had collapsed in the area between the toe strap and ankle strap. To re-establish a correct profile, I removed the collapsed area and replaced it with a new section, which I had heat-formed to correct the distortion.

Shin graft and ankle adjustment
I sectioned out and replaced a misaligned section of the shin in line with the rest of the lower leg. After the heel transplant, the position of the right foot had looked incorrect. The shin transplant confirmed this, so I moved the foot forward by 2mm using a jig to note the relative positions.

Ankle strap transplants
Because the heel had distorted so far out of position, the sandal straps to the rear and sides of the leg had moved up and out of position by about 5mm. With reference to the other ankle, I transplanted six sections into what I gauged as the correct position.

Sandal thong
As a result of the foot curving backwards, the ankle strap had pushed forward and the top of the sandal thong distorted sideward. I transplanted a new ankle strap and thong sections to correct this.
