My abstract and intuitive limited edition bronze relief sculptures translate my subconscious thought into visual form. Sculptural mind maps mastered in cranked clay relief and cast in bronze using the lost wax process.
Patterns, man-made, biomorphic and behavioural are a hallmark of my work. Due in part to an abiding fascination with the signs and symbols of ancient mark making. Also the automatic drawing of the outsider artist.
Emotionally expressive metaphors for personal experience, they explore the varying shades of the human condition. At times joyful, sad, even troubling. Yet they remain cloaked in an intentional ambiguity. Offering fertile ground for the viewer’s imagination to conjure personal meaning from the thoughts and emotions they stir.
