North Norfolk (UK) based sculptor, Ben Southwell, offers an intriguing collection of abstract and intuitive bronze relief, welded steel and mixed media sculpture and representational mixed metals wall pieces. They translate his subconscious into visual form; forming emotionally expressive metaphors for his personal experience.
Pattern, both behavioural, natural and ancient, overlays and underpins his work. Work permeated with notions of connection and conflict, of the beautiful and the grotesque. However, through intentional ambiguity, he leaves the door wide open for your own interpretation.
